Mercedes Prata was an exprimental art-rock band from the early 1980´s.
Their sound originated from the basements of Stockholm, Sweden.
When they started the band, they were already driving in a Mercedes, but it started with talk.
Talk in english is translated as Prata in swedish.
In the beginning there was a live drummer, and he was driving the car:
Carl Åkesson.
However, later he was transformed into an electronic drum machine.
Max Book played bass and bassball.
Tomas Lidén blew the saxophone as well as the fuel tank.
Ingvar Sjöberg handled the electric guitar and some junk electronics.
After some time a female vocalist was recruited to do all the talking:
Birgitta Morin.
The Mercedes was talking almost all the way through the 1980´s,
and it ended against a tree in a strange forest.
The fact was that the bumpy race track the Mercedes was talking about,
wasn´t actually the closed circuit a real race track should be.
